MY BACKGROUND
I earned my doctorate from California Institute of Integral Studies and focused my doctoral research on the impact of social media on female adolescent development. I have specialized training in Jungian psychoanalytic therapy from the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco and I incorporate Jungian theory, such as dream analysis and active imagination to understand unconscious processes that create suffering.
I have taught and lectured in the M.A. and PsyD programs at California Institute of Integral Studies on: Adolescent Development and Social Media, Jungian Dream Work, Treating Trauma, and Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders. I have also worked in elementary education with a focus on early literacy and social emotional development and learning.
My educational background provides a broad perspective. I attended a year long undergraduate program at Harvard University focused on visual culture and modernity. I am a graduate of Mills College where I studied Film, Languages, Literature, and Culture. I am particularly interested in the role of mindfulness practice in modern medical and psychological research.
